Services Provided:

• Adult Ophthalmic Day Hospitals providing surgical treatment for elective patients - Public, Private and DVA.
• Professional education programs for medical and nursing students, Optometrists and other eye health professionals.

How to Refer:

• Referral to the day hospital is through an accredited Eye -Tech Specialist/Ophthalmologist.  A detailed listing of specialists can be viewed on the website.
• Eye -Tech Day Surgeries is not a primary referral centre, or an emergency after-hours hospital.

Appointments:

• Appointments to Eye -Tech Day Surgeries are made by the referring Specialist/Ophthalmologist.
• The hours of operation are 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.

Costs to Client/Patient:

• Costs are determined on the surgery undertaken, the level of private health insurance cover, the prosthesis used, the anaesthetic component as well as other hospital related factors.
• Detailed Informed Financial Consent prior to admission is provided for all patients.

How to Refer:

• Queensland Eye Hospital is not a primary referral centre.  Referral to the day-surgery is via an accredited Queensland Eye Hospital Ophthalmologist.
• Referees/practices are provided with a list of accredited Queensland Eye Hospital Ophthalmologists.  The list includes their sub-speciality and all contact details.

Appointments:

• Appointment to Queensland Eye Hospital is via accredited Queensland Eye Hospital ophthalmologist consultation rooms.

Costs to Client/Patient:

• Queensland Eye Hospital costs are associated with surgery.  Queensland Eye Hospital costs differ due to level of health cover, prosthetic used, anaesthetic type and other hospital related factors.

• Queensland Eye Institute costs are related to fees for doctor’s consultation and surgical procedure.
