QVI Broadcast on Low Vision Services in Queensland

QVI Inc Activities

On February 26 2009, Queensland Vision Initiative Inc (QVI) presented a satellite broadcast on Low Vision Services across Queensland - organised through the Australian College of Health Service Executives (ACHSE).

The panellists for the discussion included:
The chair, Mr Greg Johnson (President of QVI), Queensland;
Ms Karen Knight (Vice President of QVI and Regional Manager of Vision Australia, Queensland and Northern Territory);
Mr Bashir Ebrahim (Manager of Rehabilitation Services for Guide Dogs Queensland);
Dr Anthony Pane (Director of Neuro-ophthalmology at the Queensland Eye Institute);
Dr Andrew Carkeet (Director of the QUT Vision Rehabilitation Centre); and
Ms Lucy Walker (General Manager of the Macular Degeneration Foundation).

The panel did a great job of promoting an awareness of low vision services across the state and encouraging early referral of patients with vision loss.
